THE EFL season may have finished a month ago, but for Plymouth Argyle fans, there is the chance to see some of their former heroes in action over the next five days in this summer's The Soccer Tournament (TST) in Cary, North Carolina.

- By STUART JAMES

Described as the most exciting and highest stakes 7v7 soccer festival in the world, Argyle are one of 48 teams battling it out for the winner-takes-all $1 million prize.

It was confirmed yesterday that former winger Craig Noone will be joining a squad that already boasts Graham Carey and David Norris. Ex-striker Jake Jervis is also in the roster, which is made up of legends, celebrities and professionals.

Noone made 62 appearances and scored six goals for the club during a two-and-a-half year spell at Home Park after joining from Southport in a £110,000 deal in August 2008.

"I hold very fond memories of my time at Argyle as the club gave me my first opportunity in professional football," the Liverpudlian said, looking ahead to the tournament.

"Running out at Home Park was some of the greatest times of my career and I am absolutely buzzing to wear the green of Argyle again this summer.

"I have heard great things about TST and really like the look of the squad being built by David and Jamie (Lowry), so can't wait to get out to America and get started.

"I look forward to seeing as many of the Green Army out there as possible."

Argyle have been put in Group J alongside Borussia Dortmund, Drunken Monkeys and Freedom United SC. Their opening games are today with Drunken Monkeys up first at 8.30am local time.

Argyle then face Freedom United at 6.45pm before concluding against Borussia Dortmund tomorrow at 12.30pm. So who are Drunken Monkeys and Freedom United, and who can Argyle expect to come up against when they face Dortmund?

On the official TST7v7.com website, Drunken Monkey are described as a team "here to disrupt the game and redefine the TST soccer landscape.
