Argyle appoint new head of sports science

CONNOR Derbidge has been named as Plymouth Argyle's head of sports science ahead of the start of pre-season training next week.

Derbidge, pictured, has previously worked as a strength and conditioning coach at Exeter City and Charlton Athletic. He replaces David Tivey, who was brought in as Argyle's physical performance coach in March on a consultancy basis until the end of last season following the departure of Elliot Turner when he followed former manager Steven Schumacher to Stoke City.

Gareth Law, who was previously Argyle's head of physiotherapy, moves to a role as head of performance. Prior to starting a second spell at Home Park in December 2022, he had worked alongside Derbidge at Exeter.
