Albion to face Chiefs for the first time in 15 years

EXETER Chiefs U23s head to Brickfields today for the first meeting with Plymouth Albion in 15 years (KO 3pm).

The return of the fixture marks an important moment for rugby in the region. With Exeter's pathway system producing Gallagher Premiership regulars and internationals year after year, the under-23s will arrive with a squad brimming with players tipped for big futures.

The visitors are expected to field some of the most exciting young prospects in English rugby. Scrumhalf Tom Cairns broke through to make his Premiership debut last season, while England U20s fly-half Ben Coen is already being spoken of as one to watch. Back-rower Kane James, who made a big impression during the U20s Six Nations, could also feature, bringing athleticism and power.
