Urgent call to help give Ruby home that meets her needs

APPEAL FOR TRADERS TO JOIN PROJECT TO IMPROVE HER LIFE

PEOPLE are urgently appealing for extra help from tradespeople to create an accessible room and wet room for an 11-year-old girl with multiple complex disabilities.

Ruby Radley, who is wheelchair-bound and lives with multiple complex disabilities, has endured more than 50 surgeries in her short life, including 35 brain operations and numerous spinal and abdominal procedures.

Having twice survived sepsis, she recently underwent lifesaving heart surgery using a critical component flown in from the USA.

Despite her extraordinary resilience, Ruby has no independent access to her upstairs bedroom at her Billingham home.

To reach it, she must crawl, with help a process parents Richard and Jo describe as exhausting, undignified, and that strips away her independence.
