Teesside awakes to snowfall

RETURN TO WORK HIT BY MORE FREEZING CONDITIONS

TEESSIDE woke up yesterday morning to a fresh blanket of snow and ice.

It came as Teessiders headed back to work, school and college after the Christmas break.

The Met Office issued various weather warnings for the UK in recent days, with the latest for our patch running until 11am today.

The overnight covering led to some disruption on the roads with collisions causing minor holdups on the A19 and some other routes.

While there was no further snowfall during the day yesterday, subzero temperatures coming in as feeling like -7C at times due to a stiff breeze - remained throughout.
