Reunion day is a big blast for Boro

MIDDLESBROUGH Rugby Club celebrated past-players reunion day with an excellent 47-36 victory over Kendal at Acklam Park.

It was the visitors who started the fastest, however, profiting from an early Boro knock-on to land the first try through Patrick Wolstenholme, with Evan Moir adding the conversion.

Full back Matthew Marsay soon got Boro into the game, however, as he crossed over after a great run from wing Brendan Hill.

It was cat and mouse after that, but Kendal added the next points to move 14-5 ahead after winning possession from Boro’s own scrum. Ollie Rose darted through and Evan Moir added the conversion.

Hill was lively again for Boro and as they managed to recycle possession, Henry Nyinguro crossed the line for Boro’s second try. However, Hill hit the post with the conversion, making the score 10-14.
