REDCAR and Cleveland’s new mayor is an expert bell-ringer who founded a group to support his local library.
Cllr Ian Hart vowed to be a “good ambassador” as he was officially invested as the new Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland for a year, at a special ceremony held on Thursday at Redcar Civic Centre.
A Liberal Democrat representing the Ormesby ward, Cllr Hart was elected to Redcar and Cleveland Council in 2023.
Born in Cargo Fleet and raised in Park End, Middlesbrough, he has lived in Ormesby for most of his life.
