No news is good news for Parr as Premiership riders get down to work

REDCAR boss Gavin Parr heads to Edinburgh for a rearranged meeting tonight after another nervous evening watching his riders perform elsewhere.

Several also perform for Premiership clubs, who ride exclusively on Mondays and Thursdays, and Parr is always conscious that many injuries that the Bears have suffered in recent times have come away from the ECCO Arena. That is not the case at Edinburgh, but the Teessiders are without the unwell Erik Riss and Jake Mulford, who is racing for Great Britain in the European Under-24 Team Championship qualifier in Germany.

Australian Tate Zischke replaces Riss, while Mulford’s place is taken by talented teenager William Cairns. But former Monarch's rider and track specialist Riss’ absence could the crucial factor when the Bears defend a ten-point lead chasing both league and the aggregate point in Scotland.
