Lollipop lady hangs up her stick after 30 years

A LOLLIPOP lady is hanging up her stick at the age of 78 after spending 30 years outside a Teesside primary school.
Hartlepool's Enid Cox has spent every morning and afternoon helping the youngsters at the town's Barnard Grove Primary School cross the road and is now onto her third generation of children. Although the former dinner lady loves her job, she said ill health is the reason behind her retirement, saying: "You can't just go on forever."
But, there will be plenty of tears shed when it comes to the final day.
Enid said: "I just love my job, it is wonderful seeing all the children. I've been getting presents and everyone is saying 'happy retirement' and it puts a lump in your throat.
