TEES Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) Cabinet has approved an organisational improvement plan in response to the Best Value Notice pinned on them.

Council leaders from across the Tees Valley quizzed combined authority officers at a TVCA cabinet meeting about topics including what success would look like.

Cabinet members then approved the organisational improvement plan ahead of the Government’s imminent deadline.

At the annual general meeting, held directly before the cabinet meeting, there was also confirmation of a complete constitutional review.

Following the issuing of the non-statutory Best Value Notice on April 3, preparations have been made to respond to the government prior to the July 3 deadline, with the draft plan circulated round TVCA committees for feedback from councillors.

TVCA boss Tom Bryant discussed the notice from the government as well as the combined authority's response during an interview with the Local Democracy Reporting Service. The five proposed strategic priorities of the agreed plan are as follows:
