how Boro contingent fared in a huge week for the international game
The Gazette
|September 12, 2025
MIDDLESBROUGH had four players away on international duty over the last week or so, with three of those now due back to Teesside after completing their obligations with their respective national teams. And there's been some positive experiences for the Boro stars.
-
The fourth, Law McCabe has headed to Devon, rather than Rockliffe, as he begins his season-long loan at Plymouth Argyle. It follows an exciting week or so with England. Meanwhile, David Strelec, Sammy Silvera and Sverre Nypan were Boro's other international stars this month.
From wonder goals and debuts, and, crucially, no obvious signs of injuries, here's a roundup of how Boro's international players got on.
David Strelec
Signed on transfer deadline day from Slovan Bratislava, we're yet to see Strelec in action for Boro, but it's fair to say he's already created a big buzz on Teesside.
If signing a striker in a £6.5m deal didn't excite fans enough, what he did in Slovakia's first game against Germany certainly raised the roof.
