Fry won't let the travelling support go without reward

MIDDLESBROUGH captain Dael Fry promised supporters that the players will use the hurt of their first defeat of the season to give them many more moments to cheer.

Boro were beaten 1-0 at Portsmouth thanks to Minhyeok Yang's first-half strike. It ended Boro’s eight-game unbeaten start to the new season, as they were leapfrogged by free-scoring Coventry City at the top of the league table, who thumped Sheffield Wednesday 5-0.

Boro were cheered on by a sold-out 2,100-strong away end at Fratton Park, with supporters sticking around at full-time to show their appreciation to the players even after defeat.

For proud Teessider Fry, it was a moment that meant a lot, and something he hopes they can repay.
