Carrick on his game plan and choosing an angle of attack

MICHAEL Carrick admits his side being too predictable is something he’s always conscious of, as he trusts in a particular way for his Middlesbrough side.

Throughout his time in charge of Boro, Carrick has established a very identifiable style of play at the Riverside which, when it comes off, can be highly entertaining.

But it's not without its flaws, as Boro's inconsistent record ahead of two huge final games proves.

Though still in the mix for a play-off spot, Boro have had many problems this season with opposition managers changing their side’s usual style to either set up to frustrate Boro, or try to expose an identifiable weakness.

Danny Rohl, for example, noted after Sheffield Wednesday's win on Monday that they targeted Boro’s full-backs.
