Boro's planning for January has begun
The Gazette
|October 06, 2025
MIDDLESBROUGH’S planning for the January transfer window is already well underway, with head of football Kieran Scott detailing how that looks with so long to go before the window opens.
Boro are only just settling after a busy summer transfer window which was largely deemed to have been a success. There were 11 new arrivals at the club, and that’s helped new boss Rob Edwards get off to an excellent start this season, with Saturday’s defeat at Portsmouth their first of the campaign after an eight-game unbeaten start.
That sees Boro sitting second in the Championship, while their squad list is currently full with a maximum of 25 registered players.
That's before Adilson Malanda joins from Charlotte in January too, with space in the squad needed to be found for him when the winter window opens.
But Boro always try to head into every window prepared, and Scott says Boro are preparing for all eventualities.
