TEENAGER THOUGHT HE WAS TARGETING HIS 'ENEMY'S' HOME
A TEENAGE arsonist who set a family's front door on fire after mistaking it for his “enemy's” home has been locked up for over three years.
Alfie Leadbitter set alight the front door of a Redcar home using petrol as an accelerant after his rival failed to turn up for an arranged fight in February of this year.
Teesside Crown Court heard that the 18-year-old, who booked a taxi to the street using the name 'Ben Dover', had mistakenly set fire to the wrong house.
Andrew Pickin, prosecuting, said the family were at home asleep when the incident occurred.
