Campaigners hit out at latest wind farm proposals

A constant battle against windfarm developments has descended into a “war of attrition” in the Stewartry, villagers have claimed this week.
Trevor Procter are among those opposed to Fell
Corsock and Kirkpatrick Durham Community Council members have hit out ahead of yet another row over planning permission for wind turbines.
They claim that 93 per cent of residents in Corsock and Kirkpatrick Durham are opposed to further windfarm development in their area.
This comes after serial planning applicants, Energiekontor, launched another bid for changes to its windfarm proposals - seeking bigger turbines in the area.
The German-based firm has previously been accused of “gaming the system” for its regular tinkering with developments which already have planning permission.
This week, the company will be back in front of Dumfries and Galloway Council’s planning committee, requesting permission to increase the height of turbines at Fell Windfarm from 130m to 220m.
In their objection to EnergieKontor'’s latest planning application, Corsock and Kirkpatrick Durham Community Council stated: “We have previously completed a community survey, seeking views on the development of further wind farms within the Corsock and KPD area:
