WHAT TRULY LASTS

The other day, a friend messaged me saying that he saw three Filipina celebrities strolling at Ayala.

One of them was a former beauty pageant titlist. “The sad thing was nobody recognized them,” he said. “I think I was the only one who did. They looked old and wrinkled.”

I messaged him back, saying “No one stays young forever. The ageing process takes a toll on how we all look, let along how we move about. Beauty and vitality fade... our mobility becomes weak... This is a reality in life that we all have to accept.”

He responded with something very profound: “Yeah, that’s right dear. What really matters is not our looks, but what we have in our hearts — a sincere kindness to help others. With this, we will truly stay beautiful and stay happy and happier in life.”

I absolutely agree with him.
