THE BOY IN A WEDDING DRESS

The Bridal Fair was the talk of the town.

There were rows of shimmering gowns, rustling veils, and vibrant tuxedos which overflowed the grand ballroom, where soft music was played in the background. Couples checked each gown while holding each others’ hands, fantasizing about their dream wedding.

Unexpectedly, among the sea of faces, was Francisco. He was a bright-eyed ten-year-old boy with a head brimming with fantasy. He was alone but he didn’t look shy to be going from one mannequin to another. Perhaps to other people, he was the son of one of the already-married couples there.

Francisco has always loved fashion since he was old enough to have an opinion, but bridalwear was something magical for him.

He would spend hours daydreaming about the intricate lace and the sweeping gowns. To him, they were like things out of a fairy tale.
