Taiheiyo reaffirms vow to support Phl development

The global Taiheiyo Group has affirmed its continued support for the Philippine government's infrastructure and industrial development agenda.

Top executives of Taiheiyo Cement Philippines, Inc. (TCPI) and its parent firm, Taiheiyo Cement Corporation (TCC) of Japan, conveyed this commitment during their recent courtesy visit at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

TCPI board chairman Shinji Fukami reiterated to DTI Secretary Maria Cristina Aldeguer-Roque Taiheiyo's strong belief in the Philippine market as manifested by its multi-billion-peso investments over the past decade.

Fukami, also TCC vice president and representative director, visited Roque with TCPI president and CEO Takashi Miyashita, also a TCC executive officer, and TCPI board director Masao Osumi.

The visit follows up on a high-level meeting held in Tokyo last March during Roque's official trip to Japan, where TCPI's strategic expansion and its role in accelerating the country's Bagong Pilipinas infrastructure vision were discussed.

In a post on its official Instagram account, DTI described the engagement as a “meeting with the delegation of Taiheiyo (Group) to discuss key developments in the cement industry.”
