The Social Security System (SSS) announced that starting October 2, 2025 its Calamity Loan Program is now available for members affected by the 6.9-magnitude earthquake that struck Cebu on September 30.

SSS President and CEO Robert Joseph Montes de Claro said the program offers immediate financial relief to quake-hit members.

“With the new guidelines now in place, we can respond sooner and provide financial support through calamity loans featuring a lower 7% annual interest rate and a loanable amount of up to P20,000,” De Claro said in a statement.

He stressed that the loan activation process has been streamlined to ensure faster assistance. Members may apply online through their My.SSS account, with approved loans credited directly to their enrolled disbursement accounts.
