MCWD starts flushing Lagtang bypass line to restore supply

The Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) began flushing operations in Barangay Lagtang early Friday morning, November 21, as part of urgent efforts to restore water supply to communities affected by Typhoon Tino.

The activity, originally set for 2 a.m., was moved to 4 a.m. to allow for system adjustments.
According to MCWD, flushing is necessary to clear debris, soil, and other foreign objects from the newly connected pipeline. The bypass line—provided by Watermatic-Tubig Pilipinas—links the Jaclupan Reservoir directly to the Tisa Reservoir, cutting around the 2.6-kilometer stretch of MCWD’s main line that was heavily damaged by flooding along the Mananga River.
