Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Jovito “Jonkie” Ouano said he plans to rehabilitate the Mandaue City Public Library, which has been experiencing water intrusion and is already in a deteriorating condition.

“Ni-inspect g’yud ko sa library to know how can we renovate it, rehabilitate it kanang mas nindot ba, more presentable” said Ouano.

One of the rehabilitation efforts for the city library is to transform it into an electronic library (e-library) equipped with computers and WiFi, similar to the facility in Lapu-Lapu City.

“Ni-attend man ko og League of Cities of the Philippines unya tapad man ming Mayor Cindi (Chan) nga naay e-library niya didto,” said Ouano.

Upon looking into the idea, Ouano said he discovered that the city library already has 21 computers, but these have not been fully promoted for use.

He added that he also identified another office under the Purok Development Office (PDO) where 15 more computers could be installed.
