Mambaling fire leaves 28 homeless

At least 28 individuals comprising two families were displaced after a second-alarm fire, believed to have been caused by an unplugged ceiling fan, razed a two-storey boarding house in Sitio Colo, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, last Friday afternoon, January 30.

Based on reports of the Cebu City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the blaze started around 1:12 P.M. and then quickly raised to first alarm by 1:16 Р.М., and second alarm at 1:20 Р.М.
After almost an hour, firefighters put the fire under control by 1:38 P.M. and fully extinguished it around 2:05 Р.М.
Initial investigation showed that one structure had been destroyed by the fire that engulfed about 250 square meters in the said barangay, leaving two families composed of 28 individuals homeless.
