FROM DOUBT TO FINISH LINE

This is a story about my mom’s first fun run.

It happened on the very first Sunday morning of the year 2026. The sky was still dark and everyone in the house was still asleep.She told me she tied her blue running shoes, the ones that make her feel brave and whispered, “Sixteen kilometers. I can do this.”

Mama said that sixteen kilometers wasn’t just a run. She said every step meant something important. She told me that when she ran the first kilometer, her legs felt heavy. That part of the road reminded her of times when she felt unsure of herself. But she kept running and said, “Each step is me moving away from doubt.”
