Equality, inclusiveness, and reality

This month, from June 1 to June 30, the whole world (or at least those that allow homosexuals to flourish without threat of imprisonment or death just by being who they are) will be celebrating pride month.

Pride month is the is the moment that members of the LGBTQ community can showcase various talents, chronicle the history of the struggles of the LGBTQ, and basically celebrate how more tolerant the world is today, and how much more can be done by creating awareness. Naturally, not the whole world will allow this celebration. Some countries have made being gay as illegal. And in some places, death in the most gruesome of ways often follows those who deviate from what they consider as "normal" sexual behavior.

The United States celebrates the event, the month of June being the pivotal moment in gay rights history when series of riots erupted against police intrusions into the Stonewall Inn in June of 1969 (no pun intended; it's history!). To many, this was the beginning of the modern-day gay rights movement.
