City eyes using EV buses before yearend

The advocacy for electric vehicles (EVs) use in government operations and public transport got a renewed push from Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival.

This following a fresh proposal from Global Electric Transport (GET), presented by its president and former Taguig mayor Sigfrido Tinga, during the "Unveiling of the Future" forum held at City Hall the other day.
The GET proposal outlines a battery-powered electric bus system capable of traveling up to 200 kilometers on a single 1.5-hour charge.
With three existing VECO-operated charging stations already in place, Cebu City is well-positioned to pilot this project.
