Business owners get further reprieve this week after Mayor Nestor Archival approved Vice Mayor Tomas Osmeña's request to ease requirements for the issuance of temporary business permits, alongside the extension of the city's business permit renewal period.

Under the new arrangement, temporary permits may now be released on the same day without the need for notarization, provided that all taxes and fees have been fully settled.
The measure aims to give entrepreneurs more breathing room amid the annual rush for permit renewals.
Originally set to end on January 20, the renewal of business permits and licenses has been extended until January 30, 2026, following the adoption of Sangguniang Panlungsod Resolution No. 17-2015-2026.
