Budlaan lone SGLGB winner for 2025 awards in Cebu City

Barangay Budlaan, nestled in the upland area of Cebu City, has once again distinguished itself on the national stage emerging as the only barangay from the city to receive the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays (SGLGB) during the 2025 Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas National Congress held at the World Trade Center.

Budlaan reaffirmed the power of grassroots leadership in driving national transformation.

Barangay Captain Nerissa Antolihao, hailed during the event for her unwavering commitment to public service, brings with her a legacy of distinction.

In previous years, Barangay Budlaan earned national recognition as the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Award winner—an accolade from the Department of the Interior and Local Government that honored the barangay's exemplary role in community dispute resolution.

That win, grounded in peace-building and local justice, laid the foundation for this year's recognition focused on governance, transparency, disaster preparedness, and service delivery.

Among Cebu City's 80 barangays, Budlaan alone met the rigorous criteria of the SGLGB.

Both DILG-Cebu City and the Liga ng mga Barangay-Cebu City praised Antolihao for her tireless efforts in submitting accurate reports and implementing meaningful projects.
