Instead of a quarterly releasing, Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival is considering releasing financial assistance for the city's senior citizens on a monthly basis.

He said this will make it easier on the city's coffers as well as weed out fake beneficiaries; seniors who aren't actually residents of Cebu City.
"We've already consulted some councilors. If we give it monthly, dili kayo mabug-atan ang panudlanan," Archival said in a report in this newspaper.
It's also worth pointing out that the ordinance behind this aid specifies it should be given monthly, so Archival would only be following rules. It was only the city government that decided to do it quarterly as a matter of convenience for seniors.
