21st century-ready school buildings to rise

The administration of Governor Pamela Baricuatro is set to construct "21st century-ready" school buildings across Cebu, with funding to be sourced from this year's Special Education Fund (SEF).

The proposed school buildings will follow a standard “21st century-ready” design concept to be identified per local government unit (LGU).
Assistant provincial administrator Aldwin Empaces said a concept model design for the school buildings has already been prepared and presented to the Department of Education (DepEd)-Cebu Province, which welcomed the initiative.
He shared that DepEd officials were particularly pleased that the proposed structures will be multipurpose, allowing them to be used not only as classrooms but also as venues for trainings and seminars, aside from regular academic activities.
