Cites 26/11 attack on financial capital; launches ~31,850-crore infra projects

- Dhairya Gajara

Prime minister Narendra Modi took a dig at the Congress on Wednesday, alleging that its weakness strengthened terrorism.

He said the party knelt down in front of terrorism and under foreign pressure prevented our defence forces from launching an offensive against Pakistan after the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack.

He demanded that the Congress should reveal the name of the leader who acted under pressure from another country and played with the emotions of Mumbaikars.

Modi arrived in Mumbai on his two-day trip to inaugurate a slew of development projects worth Rs 31,850 crore.

He noted that the country's financial capital is also the most vibrant city due to which the terrorists targeted it in 2008. He alleged that by not retaliating against Pakistan, which sponsored terror strikes, the erstwhile Congress government gave out the message of the country being weak kneed.
