Gold worth crores of rupees, offered to the temple in devotion, appears to have been spirited away in what many are already calling the ‘Great Indian Gold Heist’.

At the centre of the storm Unnikrishnan Potti. But evidence suggests the disappearance of gold from one of India’s holiest shrines could not have been the handiwork of a lone individual. The operation looks more like an organised loot, executed in plain sight and concealed under layers of ritual and repair.
