Allegations of voter confinement and inducement have intensified political tensions in Karur ahead of the Assembly elections, with National Democratic Alliance functionaries accusing Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam cadres of orchestrating a coordinated effort to influence voters through temporary housing and material incentives.

- HD Bureau

A delegation led by All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Karur district secretary M R Vijayabhaskar submitted a formal complaint to Karur Collector-cum-Election Officer G Ravikumar and Superintendent of Police Hari Kiran Prasad on Friday, urging immediate intervention. The petition claimed that a network of makeshift sheds was being erected across the constituency to house voters and allegedly distribute cash and gifts in exchange for electoral support.
