Kannada music director calls for promoting Kannada through arts

He also highlighted the need to create an environment that motivates non-Kannada speakers to learn the language.

Kannada music director Dr Hamsalekha on Saturday emphasised the importance of promoting the Kannada language across all forms of art.

He stated that such efforts not only contribute to the growth of the language but also foster the development of arts, traditional festivals and the cultural heritage of Karnataka.

He was speaking at a programme organised by the Karnataka State Dr Gangubai Hanagal Music and Performing Arts University, during which outstanding personalities were honoured with the Kannada Rajyotsava Award.

The event was held at the university campus in the city.
