The CBI's investigation into the Igatpuri call centre scam found that the accused ran a network of illegal call centres across Maharashtra and Gujarat, frequently shifting locations to evade detection while targeting foreign nationals, mainly from the US and Canada.

According to the agency's prosecution complaint (PC), the syndicate operated like a “moving shadow,” repeatedly changing sites, identities and communication routes, managing to stay off the radar for nearly eight months before being busted during the Igatpuri raid on August 9.
