PCMC’s rusted air purifiers pose risk in twin city

The air purification systems installed by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) are lying in disrepair, with several units out of maintenance and shut down.

The systems, which were meant to ease residents’ struggle against pollution, are proving inefficient and unsafe. Residents have complained that the iron pipes of these units are rusted, broken, or hanging precariously, posing a risk of falling on pedestrians and motorists. PCMC officials confirmed that the systems have been shut down to prevent accidents, while citizens are demanding immediate repairs.
