One India, One Vision: Upholding Sardar Patel’s Legacy of Unity and Progress
The Free Press Journal - Mumbai
|November 02, 2025
On this 3lst October, as India celebrates Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the message remains timeless — a united India is not just our heritage, but our greatest strength.
From Independence to today’s global challenges, unity has been the foundation of progress. Yet it must be actively sustained — and in that task, Patels vision still guides us.
A Legacy of Integration
At Independence, over 560 princely states stood divided. Whether India would unite or splinter depended on decisive leadership. Sardar Patel made that mission his own. Through persuasion, negotiation and firm action, he integrated them into one Union, laying the foundation of modern India. His vision also built institutions — the All India Services, police and administration — the “steel frame” that still holds the republic together.
Unity Through Diversity
