Farmers question delay in starting MSP hubs

Farmers across Nanded district have expressed anger over the one-month delay in starting the minimum support price (MSP) centres for Kharif procurement, stating that the move has come too late to offer any real benefit.

Under the Union governments MSP scheme, 33 centres have been sanctioned for the purchase of soybean, moong and udad in the 2025-26 Kharif season, but approval was granted only after most farmers were forced to sell their produce in the open market.

Last year, the procurement process began on Oct 15 at 17 centres. However, this year’s delay has left farmers questioning the relevance of the scheme. Many had already sold their exhausted produce at prices far below the MSP.
