Matter known only to five or six senior leaders: Dy CM

- NT Correspondent

Amid growing speculation over Karnataka Congress leadership, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Tuesday clarified that discussions about a potential change in Chief Minister remain confidential, known only to five or six senior leaders.

The issue, he stressed, is not for public debate. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge refrained from commenting on the matter, stating, “This is not a subject to be discussed publicly.” Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also weighed in, emphasizing that the party high command must step in to end the ongoing confusion.

Kharge was in New Delhi to attend a Constitution Day review meeting. Speaking briefly to reporters, he avoided commenting on internal party matters. “It is not a matter to be discussed publicly or with the media. I have come here to attend the review meeting,” he said.

When asked if he would meet Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, Kharge clarified, “As the President, I do not go and meet anyone. When meetings are convened, matters will be discussed.”
