Strategy, discussions on Local Body polls gain momentum

The ruling Congress Party has intensified preparations for the forthcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly bye-election, with the candidate selection process entering a decisive stage.

After a series of deliberations, the party is said to be zeroing in on four key aspirants— former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, former Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, young leader Naveen Yadav, and Corporator CS Reddy. The name of Ranjith Reddy is also doing the rounds within party circles.

A strategic meeting was held today at Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s residence, where TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud and In-charge Minister for Hyderabad Ponnam Prabha-kar joined the Chief Minister in reviewing the Jubilee Hills contest alongside broader election strategies for the by-poll and local body polls.

With the Jubilee Hills seat being seen as a prestigious battle, today’s review between the Chief Minister, PCC chief, and senior ministers has set the stage for the party's formal announcement of its candidate after the AICC screening committee meeting on October 6.
