Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has drawn attention not only for its box-office triumph but also for stirring discontent over its depiction of Bengaluru, prompting the producers to issue an apology and Karnataka's Central Crime Branch to initiate a probe.

The film's creators at Wayfarer Films expressed regret for a line by Inspector Nachiyappa Gowda, played by Sandy, who remarks that he does not wish to marry women from Bengaluru, calling them "characterless."

The production house acknowledged the offence caused and assured that the line would be removed or edited. The apology emphasised that no disrespect was intended towards the people of Karnataka and stated that the action would be taken "at the earliest."
