HRC member appointed, despite objection by LoP

The name of the Principal Secretary of Vidhan Sabha, A P Singh, has been approved for the post of a member of the MP Human Rights Commission (MPHRC), despite objection by the Leader of the Opposition, Umang Singhar.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the committee at the Chief Minister's residence on Monday.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar and the Leader of the Opposition participated in the meeting.

In the meeting, it was said that only AP Singh applied for the post of member of the committee.
