Gujarat’s Deputy Chief Minister, Harsh Sanghvi, made his inaugural visit to his hometown of Surat after assuming his new role, using the occasion of a Diwali meet-and-greet with city and range police officials to deliver a stirring call to action.

Sanghvi praised the dedication of the police force while emphasizing a nonnegotiable, intensified crackdown on drug trafficking and fraudulent relationships categorized as "Love Jihad."

Addressing the officers, Sanghvi began by extending Diwali greetings, acknowledging the personal sacrifices made by police families who work away from home during the festive season. He expressed a prayer that the police force would "become the reason for lighting lamps in darkness," ensuring "the lamp of justice and happiness lights up in the homes of all citizens of Gujarat."
