Former Intelligence Chief Anjaneyulu's arrest sparks political reactions

The recent arrest of former Intelligence Chief and senior IPS officer PSR Anjaneyulu has ignited a political storm in Andhra Pradesh, with leaders from both the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) trading barbs over the implications and motivations behind the action.

TDP senior leader and Ponnur MLA Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar lashed out at Anjaneyulu, accusing him of abusing power during his tenure. "PSR Anjaneyulu behaved more like YSR Anjaneyulu, using his authority with arrogance and bias. His arrest is a clear indication that no one is above the law," Narendra said.

He further alleged that Anjaneyulu, during the previous YSRCP regime, misused his position as ACB Director General and Intelligence Chief to target TDP leaders, adversaries, and even women by fabricating false cases.
