The Free Press Journal - Bhopal
|March 19, 2025
In a bold display of dissent, over 10 members of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) were detained by Vadodara police following a protest that saw the blocking of public roads.
The demonstration, aimed at Gujarat's Home Affairs minister Harsh Sanghavi, demanded his resignation over alleged failures in curbing the rampant sale and addiction of drugs among the youth in the state.
The protest, which included the display of prohibition cards and various posters condemning the state government's handling of drug-related issues, escalated when activists blocked the main road near Polytechnic College.
