The pickup truck they were traveling touches high-voltage wire in Haryana
Two Kanwariyas died on the spot and others injured critically after a pickup truck carrying 15 devotees came into contact with a high-voltage electric wire early Tuesday morning in Gumthala village of Yamunanagar district of Haryana.
According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Kuldeep Singh (40) and Harish Kumar (42)—both residents of Gumthala village.
The incident occurred around 6 AM, as the group—residents of the same village—was participating in a pre-yatra procession (parikrama) before heading to Haridwar to collect holy Ganga water for the annual Kanwar Yatra.
