Stuck Flats, New Hope: Supreme Court's Noida Sports City Order

For thousands of families across the NCR, the "Sports City" dream turned into a monthly debit nightmare: EMIS flowing out for nearly a decade, but no flat, no registry, and only mounds of rubble on site. That long limbo may finally be shifting.

In a major order, the Supreme Court has cleared a revival framework for Noida's stalled Sports City projects, including Lotus Green's development in Sector 150 - a judgment that potentially touches 40,000 homebuyers.

WHAT THE SUPREME COURT HAS ORDERED

On November 24, a bench of Justices M.M. Sundresh and Satish Chandra Sharma approved a settlement between the Noida Authority and Lotus Green Constructions. The court has: Directed Noida Authority to lift its 2021 ban on the developer within 30-45 days, clearing the way for work to restart.

Allowed a staggered repayment of dues: 20% within two months of the revised master plan's approval, and the balance in six half-yearly installments over three years, with "zero-period" benefits for the pandemic shutdown.
