Six killed in firecracker unit blaze in Andhra Pradesh

Six people were killed and four others injured after a massive fire broke out at the Lakshmi Ganapathi Fireworks unit in Komaripalem village of Andhra Pradesh’s Ambedkar Konaseema district on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Rayavaram police, the blaze erupted while workers were engaged in manufacturing firecrackers, trapping several inside as the flames spread rapidly. Eyewitnesses from nearby villages described scenes of horror as the unit was engulfed in thick smoke and explosions.
Emergency responders, including police, fire department personnel and revenue officials, rushed to the spot to douse the flames and carry out rescue operations.
