Remarks against Selja brings rift in Congress to fore

Former Haryana Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda issued a strong statement condemning the casteist remarks made against Congress leader Kumari Selja in a viral video.

Hooda, addressing the controversy during a press conference in Rohtak, declared that Selja holds a highly respected position within the party, and no Congress member would dare to speak against her.

He called for strict action against those making and circulating such defamatory remarks.

"Kumari Selja is like a sister to me, and she is a valued leader of the Congress party. No Congress leader or worker can make such comments against her, and anyone doing so has no place in the party," Hooda asserted. He further emphasized that the video was a clear attempt by outside forces to manipulate public sentiment and divide society. "This is a deliberate manipulation aimed at creating discord, but such divisive tactics have no place in our society or politics," he added.
