Perform Or Retire: Kharge's Stern Warning To Congress Workers

Says party follows principles of Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, attacks BJP-led Centre for destroying democracy

In a stern message to party leaders, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday said those unwilling to contribute to party work should "take rest," while those not ready to fulfill responsibilities should consider "retiring" while he also reiterated his stand for holding elections through ballot paper, as he asserted that scams are taking place in elections to favour the BJP.

He said the election institutions are under the control of the ruling dispensation and it is increasing its dominance by interfering in every institution.

Addressing the AICC Session here, in presence of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Kharge said, "Those who do not help in party work, need to rest, those who do not fulfill their responsibilities must retire."
